Conditional Tenses - Exercise 7

Directions:  In the blank below each sentence, write the correct form of the verb in parenthesis.  You may add auxiliary verbs will, would, have and had as needed.  When you are finished, click  the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

 

1. If a stranger had come to the door, the dog (bark).
    

2. If Grace washed her car more often, it (look) better.
    

3.  The editor will publish your book if she (like) the plot.
    

4.  If the power failed, the television (stop) working.
    

5.  If you come to my house next Saturday, I (make) lunch for us.
    

6.  No one would read the book if the story (be) not interesting.
    

7.  If you had finished school, you (get) a good job.
    

8.  If the weather is warm, I usually (go) to the swimming pool.
    

9.  The plane would have landed on time if the pilot (follow) the right course.
    

10. You would not need your keys if you (leave) your door unlocked.
