Irregular Verbs - Exercise 12

Directions:  In the blank below each sentence, write the correct form of the verb in parenthesis.  Do not add auxiliary verbs.  When you are finished, click  the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

1. When the pie was (do), Mary let it cool.
    

2. Before I pruned it, the tree (grow) higher than the house.
    

3.  I already (pay) for our tickets.
    

4. George (forget) to send his cousin a birthday card.
    

5.  Once we (light) the torch, we could see more easily.
    

6.  Marla (swear) to uphold the law.
    

7.  Some apples had (fall) from the tree.
