Faulty Pronouns - Exercise 2

Directions: Each sentence below contains faulty pronoun reference: a pronoun with more than one antecedent. Rewrite each sentence, repairing every faulty pronoun reference.

1. Trumpet playing can be very entertaining, but it is a difficult instrument to master.



2. The student's mother felt upset when she received a “D” in mathematics.



3. We looked at Senator Smith's report and felt that she had worked hard on the legislation.



4. As I was preparing the dog's meal, it whined incessantly.



5. It is a good idea to have farm experience before buying one.



6. The computer's power switch was broken, so I lugged it into the store for repair.



7. After we saw the Sullivans' dogs, they showed us the cats.



8. After approaching the chicken coop, the coyote attacked one.



9. We called the police station and told them about the robbery.
