Participles - Exercise 4

Directions:  Locate the participle in each sentence.  Type your answer into the box below the sentence. When you are finished, click the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

Note: If the participle is part of a participial phrase, include the whole phrase in your answer.

1.  The small puppy waiting patiently for its master looked very sad.



2.  The city plans to open several new buildings connected by walkways.



3.  Balancing himself on the wire, the tightrope walker slowly made her way across the stage.



4.  Driving a car is a skill mastered by most teenagers.



5.  We were frightened by the bug crawling around on the concrete.



6.  The tourists saw several museums filled with masterpieces from the Renaissance.



7.  Anyone entering the area will be subject to a security check.



8.  Please scan all of the letters written before 2008.



9.  After the initial crash, the flying debris injured several more people.
