Message from the President

Greetings, Towson University Parents, Families and Friends,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer break and relaxing! I want to share with everyone some of last year’s highlights. Thanks to the generosity of the Parents Association we were able to give back to the students in the form of our new TUPA Grant. We were able to assist these groups with their school and community activities. Congratulations to all 5 groups!

For the first time we also were able to fund a “Friday Night Live” event, which provided on-campus entertainment.  Being a member of the Parents Association also has many benefits for both you and your student directly:

• Parents will receive a parent card, good for discounts at TU sporting events, as well as other locations. 
• Members will also receive as student card, good for discounts at local pizza places and local area merchants.
• Members will receive the Parent Pride Magazine, which is a handy tool to keep you up to date of happenings at Towson and within the Parents Association.
• As of September 1, 2011 all memberships to the Parents Association are tax-deductible.  In addition to the information included in your membership packet, you will receive a tax receipt from the Towson University Foundation. 

From our annual meetings or becoming a volunteer, it’s a great way to stay involved behind the scenes. We could use volunteers for our two big events - Freshman Move In day (August 24) and Family Weekend (October 4-6, 2013).

The Parents Association has a $50 annual membership which is renewable in the summer of each year . Now is the time to send a strong message to your student and to Towson University that their education is of the utmost importance to us as parents.
