Message from the President
Greetings,
Towson University Parents, Families and Friends,
I hope everyone
is enjoying their summer break and relaxing! I want to share
with everyone some of last year’s highlights. Thanks to the
generosity of the Parents Association we were able to give back
to the students in the form of our new TUPA Grant. We were able
to assist these groups with their school and community
activities. Congratulations to all 5 groups!
For the first
time we also were able to fund a “Friday Night Live” event,
which provided on-campus entertainment. Being a member of the
Parents Association also has many benefits for both you and your
student directly:

We will
again have our TWO $1000 scholarships. Membership in the
Parent’s Association is the only requirement to win. The
scholarship is not based on grades or any other
requirements. The winners are announced at the Family
Weekend Football Game. How exciting!

Parents
will receive a parent card, good for discounts at TU
sporting events, as well as other locations.

Members
will also receive as student card, good for discounts at
local pizza places and local area merchants.

Members
will receive the Parent Pride Magazine, which is a handy
tool to keep you up to date of happenings at Towson and
within the Parents Association.
From our annual meetings or becoming a volunteer, it’s a
great way to stay involved behind the scenes. We could use
volunteers for our two big events - Freshman Move In day (August
21) and Family Weekend (Sept. 26– 28).
We urge you to renew your membership for the upcoming year for
only $50. Now is the time to send a strong message to your
student and to Towson University that their education is of the
utmost importance to us as parents.
Once again, I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting in
March.
