Assistant Professor, Middle School Science Education
The Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences seeks a tenure-track assistant professor beginning Fall 2011 to support Towson University’s new Middle School Science Education Program. Candidates are expected to have (1) a doctoral in science education, (2) a doctorate in curriculum and instruction (or an equivalent degree), or (3) a doctorate in the physical, earth, or space sciences and extensive experience in science education. ( A candidate who is ABD will be considered if the degree is completed by February 1, 2012). Middle-level science teaching experience is preferred. This position is contingent on final funding approval.
The successful candidate will be able to reach science content, field experience, and teaching methods courses for middle school and elementary education majors. The person is also expected to be involved in education research and in professional development activities for teacher in the metropolitan Baltimore area.

The Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences at Towson University seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level.
