The Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Geosciences at Towson University is seeking to fill an entry level tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek a person with a strong theoretical background who will pursue research in the nuclear/high energy or condensed matter fields. The new faculty member should have the doctorate at the time of employment (August, 2009). The appointee will be expected to teach a variety of courses at all undergraduate levels and to involve undergraduates in an active research program. Salary will be competitive at entry level. Potential for effective teaching, service, and scholarship commensurate with the mission of the institution is expected.
