Senior Chrysta Ghent is an Earth-Space Science Secondary Education major with a minor in Astronomy. She is also the Historian for Towson University’s Women in Science Club. She is the recipient of the 2009-2010 Fisher College Undergraduate Research Stipend and is conducting research under the mentorship of Dr. Rommel Miranda. Her study investigates teachers' beliefs about their students' behaviors and attitudes toward science, and the teachers’ reported modification to the astronomy curricula.  She actively participates in educational public outreach and facilitates grade appropriate planetarium shows in urban PK-12 school settings. Chrysta was selected to present her research at the 2010 Colonial Academic Alliance Undergraduate Research Conference at the Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as the 2010 Student Research and Scholarship Expo at Towson University.
