Instructions for navigation
-
Since the encyclopedia is a growing resource, there will be links to
pages that are not yet online. For this we apologize. We will
remedy the missing links as soon as possible.
-
As a hypertext document, the encylopedia entries have links both to
other entries and to outside sites. If you exit the encyclopedia,
use the BACK button on the tool bar of your browser to return to the entry
you were reading (upper left side of screen). All the encyclopedia
entries have the same background (like the one for this page) so you will
know if you are in the encylopedia.
-
Footnotes in the entries jump the window to the bottom of the entry.
At the end of each footnote, there should be a link that will take you
right back to where you were in the entry.
-
The Encyclopedia uses the parenthetical bibiographic citation system.
Each citation should link to the bibliographic entry in the common reference
list for all entries. To return to where you were in the entry, use
the BACK button on the tool bar of your browser.
-
If your browser can handle frames, the index frame should always appear
on the left side of your screen. You can return to this page by clicking
on the link for the "main page" or you can move to another entry at any
time.
-
All of the images should be captioned using the alternative text feature.
If you point your mouse at an image and leave it un-moved for a moment,
a pop-up box will appear with the caption.
