Assistant or Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education

The College of Education is seeking candidates with doctorates in a targeted educational discipline or
closely allied field and at least three years teaching experience in a Pk-12 setting.

Assistant or Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education with specific expertise and interest in child development, assessment and educational interventions for children birth to age 5. Understanding and expertise in the differentiation of instruction through sensitivity to Pk-12 students' needs across diverse racial, ethnic, economic and special needs subgroups is necessary.

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, work closely with interns, teachers, and students integrating inquiry and practice in the context of professional development schools, collaborate with colleagues across the college and region and demonstrate knowledge of the Common Core Standards and instructional implications of PARCC assessments, and be current in educational technology and digital teaching and learning.

Doctorate in Early Childhood Education or a closely allied field and three years successful teaching
experience in a Pk-12 setting, demonstrated expertise in developmental and educational services targeted to economically and culturally diverse populations, demonstrated record of research and scholarship focused on the design and delivery of early interventions that optimize cognitive and psychosocial development and preschool readiness for academic success. Experience with preparing Early Childhood educators to serve economically, racially and ethnically diverse children, families and communities highly desired.
