Position:
The College of Health Professions invites applications for a tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor position in the College of Health Professions to begin August 2014.

Qualifications:
Commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. Licensed or eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Maryland; earned doctoral degree with a research component (i.e., PhD, ScD, EdD), clinical experience practicing occupational therapy and teaching experience in occupational therapy or occupational science. Scholarship outcomes with external funding, a minimum of two years clinical experience in occupational therapy, a minimum of two years of teaching experience in occupational therapy or occupational science and on-going involvement in occupational therapy or occupational science professional activities are preferred. Graduate work (MS or research doctorate) in occupational therapy and/or occupational science is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Teach graduate level students in foundational classes as well as direct research in occupational therapy and occupational science at both the MS and doctoral levels. Teaching/learning experiences and advising, conducting research consistent with the mission of the department, college and university seeking external funding to support research and contributing to the service mission of the department, college and university. Faculty assigned a reduced instructional workload of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year. Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units.
