The College of Health Professions invites applications for a non-tenure track, 10-month Lecturer position in Physical Education/Teacher Education in the Kinesiology Department to begin August 2014.
Master’s degree in physical education, kinesiology, or closely related area desired. 5+ years of K-12 teaching experience and experience in collaborative relationships with faculty, schools and other agencies. Experience in higher education teaching and interdisciplinary activities and demonstrated success in working with diverse populations highly preferred.
Provide high quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate pedagogy and activity courses within the physical education/teacher education major. Provide service to the department, college, university, profession and community.
The Department of Kinesiology, located in the College of Health Professions, has 30 full-time faculty and more than 1300 undergraduate majors in Physical Education/ Teacher Education, Athletic Training, Sport Management, and Exercise Science. In addition, the Department has initiatives at the College’s Institute for Well-Being, through its Wellness Center, that supports student education, community education, and research. The Department also has a strong, positive relationship with the University’s Division of Athletics.
