The College of Fine Arts and Communication invites applications for a non-tenure track, 10-month lecturer position in Graphic Design with the Art + Design, Art History, Art Education Department to begin August 2014.

MFA in Graphic Design or Visual Communication Design with strong typography, layout and conceptual skills. Interactive and web design expertise a plus. Show evidence of professional accomplishment, a strong commitment to creative activity and teaching excellence.

Teach 3 courses per semester at undergraduate and graduate levels as assigned. Assist in screening/portfolio reviews. Advise graphic design students and supervise internships, as needed.

The Department of Art + Design:
The Art + Design studio facilities include six computer labs with current technology, fully-equipped photo imaging facilities, as well as metals, sculpture and ceramics studios. Other departmental resources include a comprehensive digital fabrication and rapid technologies lab, a healthy MFA program, and two galleries.

Submit letter of application, artist statement, statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, 20 digital images of scholarly or professional work, 20 digital images of students’ work as available, an image list, and contact information for three references. Deadline for all materials to be received: April 15, 2014. Please specify the applicant’s role in collaborative work. All materials must be submitted as files on a data CD or DVD (no authoring). Save text documents as PDFs; image files as JPEGs; and clips of time-based work as .MOVs. You may provide us with links to your time-based work on Vimeo as well (be sure to include the password if needed). Official transcripts will be required if an offer is extended.
