Update - Digital Media Classroom & Lecture Capture Options

At the conclusion of the Fall 2013 semester the DMC (CK 404B) classroom was decommissioned for necessary repurposing and updates. Please note that this change will not impact your existing Mediasite recordings. Mediasite, the lecture capture solution used within the DMC is still supported and available in select locations across campus. For questions regarding your existing Mediasite recordings please contact Brian Cooney at

Additional information regarding the plans for the room as well as status updates for the OAI Active Learning Space (formally DMC) will be posted to this web page periodically.

Currently, you have the following options for lecture capture:

  1. During the Spring 2014 semester OTS & OAI are continuing a evaluation of Panopto, a software-based instructional capture solution. If you are interested in participating in the evaluation please contact Brian Raley ( for additional information.

  2. If you have questions regarding additional Mediasite equipped rooms, please contact Brian Cooney at

  3. There are multiple free online resources for lecture capture, such as Jing or Screencast-o-Matic. These tools can capture audio from a microphone, activity on the computer, and video via a webcam. Although the use of these tools is not supported by OTS, OAI staff can provide an orientation to faculty.

  4. To discuss the recording of professional-quality videos, please complete a Multimedia Service Request Form and select Videography Services.
