Reflective Process for Diversity
Towson University is committed to university-wide institutional transformation for diversity. Our Reflective Process seeks to engage all campus stakeholders – administrators, faculty, staff, and students – to reflect upon personal and divisional approaches to diversity, develop and assess diversity goals, and maintain an ongoing campus dialogue regarding diversity.
Campus Community Opportunities
All members of our campus community are provided an opportunity to:
- Self-reflect and identify personal change opportunities that will allow each individual the opportunity to provide input and shape diversity initiatives.
- Participate in collaborative departmental exercises that contribute toward developing divisional goals as well as supporting Towson University’s diversity mission.
Goals for the Reflective Process for Diversity
The goals for the Reflective Process for Diversity include:
- Increased awareness and commitment to diversity issues campus-wide
- Identification of key goals and action steps by department and division
- Focus scholarship on diversity
- Continued change leading to institutional transformation
The Reflective Process is designed to shift the campus diversity structure by allowing each department to set diversity goals that are relevant to the work of the unit. The resulting institutionalized model for diversity has been tied to educational quality, institutional sustainability, and academic excellence for all students.
