Sonia Stockton, Central Region Director

Sonia Stockton has been the director of the Central Region SBDC since 1995 and brings extensive experience in small and underserved
business owner market business development with several Federal, State and local government agencies. Considered an expert on the needs, trends, and direction of Maryland's small business, Sonia is a frequently requested speaker.
When Sonia speaks, people listen! She has been recognized by
numerous business-focused and community organizations for her
commitment to Maryland's small business owners. In 2003 Sonia received the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Maryland Small Business Week Awards
Program, Inc., Veteran Small Business Advocate of the Year Award.
She was the SBA 2002 Robert A. Nicholls Minority Advocate Award
recipient and the 2001 Maryland
Small Business Development Center Director of the Year.

Sandra Conaway, Assistant Director

Sandra Conaway has been with the SBDC since it was housed under the Department of Economic and Employment Development in the early 1990s.
Considered the glue that holds the region together, she manages the Central Regions' administrative policies and procedures, and effectively interfaces with the State Lead Center and the Central Region field offices.
Sandra is responsible for the financial transactions for the region,
including preparation of grant applications, budget preparation, billing
and collection. She is proficient in SBDC's management information system and frequently troubleshoots problems and concerns with satellite offices
and clients. Sandra is dedicated to the advancement of Maryland's small
business population. She is well-versed in the issues and considerations
of starting a small business and is eager and willing to share her
knowledge with anyone.

Mary Redmond, Marketing & Training Director

Mary manages the
marketing/training department and all marketing efforts for the
Central Region's four counties including marketing materials,
promotions, training workshops and administration. She promotes
workshops to potential participants through various mediums,
creates, updates and manages SBDC products, and consults with
potential and current small business owners. A
project management specialist, Mary has extensive experience in
project management, marketing. |
