Kappa Delta National Championship with
Distinction

Jordan Walter, David Biglari, David Kosak, Idiyatu Akande, Mami Casse and
Angela Decker represented the Maryland Alpha Chapter of the Pi Kappa Delta
Forensics Honor Society at the National Championship tournament in Mt.
Pleasant, Michigan March 6-10, 2007.
David Biglari, sophomore majoring in Communication Studies and Business,
earned an Excellent in Dramatic Interpretation with his performance of "All
That We Can Handle", a play about a man who loses his new found love on
September 11, 2001. Biglari also earned a Good in Prose with his reading of
Ladybug, by David J. Flood. Jordan Walter, junior majoring in Mass
Communication, earned an Excellent in Impromptu Speaking. Idiyatu Akande and
David Kosak, sophomore majoring in Mass Communication, earned goods in
Impromptu Speaking. The delegation performed a readers theater entitled The
Reckoning, about the plight of the homeless in the United States. They were
recognized with a Good at the tournament for the adaptation that included
prose, poetry, and tableau's designed to embody the text.
