REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CHAIRS

Full-time undergraduate student with a minimum of 2.5 GPA.

Able to attend ALL weekly meetings, summer and winter retreats, and conferences.

    Program Area Descriptions    

*subject to change

 

Coffeehouse: Often consists of musical acts on a more intimate and laid-back scale, student open-mic nights, poetry slams, etc.

 

Comedy: Large scale shows with national comedians, as well as student comedy competitions and smaller-scale shows.

 

Concerts: Concerts of all genres and sizes, ranging from Eric Church to Gavin DeGraw to Gym Class Heroes.

 

Cultural: Promotes diversity through a wide range of educational activities and cultural awareness programs

 

Daytime: Entertainment for the lunch-time hours. A wide variety is possible here, with past events including local bands, caricature artists, Build-A-Bear, Ice Cream Olympics, etc.

 

Lecture: Speakers that discuss fun, educational, and thought-provoking material. Past speakers have included Candice Bushnell, Dr. Ben Carson, Gideon Yago, and Dennis “Mr. Belding” Haskins.

 

Special Events: Special “once a year” events, Casino Nights, carnivals,

outdoor movies, hypnotists etc.

 

Bus Trips: Low-cost day trips to area events and attractions such as New York City, Georgetown, Six Flags, and Atlantic City.

 

Music Mayhem:  Showcases free concerts with three to five local acts who

play for free in Paws.

 

Friday Night Live: Similar to Special Events, but on Fridays! With larger

budgets, these events can be bigger than other Special Events.

 

Webmaster: A new position within CAB, this person would not program events, but would manage and improve the CAB website. Web experience required for this position.
