R.E.A.C.H.for theHIGH 5REACH for the HIGH 5 is the new and improved community service program at Towson University. Those involved with the program will REACH by developing and participating in these actions… Respecting Others Encouraging Others Advocating for those less fortunate Community Involvement Helping those in need The GOAL of the program is to Respect, Encourage, Advocate, be involved in the Community, and Help others (R.E.A.C.H) by participating in at least one opportunity in 5 different areas. These 5 areas can be remembered by the word “SKILL.” Service Organizations: Join as service organization, make new friends, co lots of community service, and you may not have to leave campus. Keep Going: Check out all the organizations that are looking for individuals to volunteer over the entire semester. Interested in volunteering to build up your resume, here you can find volunteer opportunities listed by academic major. Participating in the HIGH 5 program has some great payoffs. Different levels of participation result in different rewards , so get involved and complete the program with SKILLs. Rewards for participating in at least one event in 5 out of the 5 SKILLs areas: Involvement in at least one opportunity in each of the 5 SKILL areas results in full completion of the program and great recognition. Those who complete the program at this level will be nominated for the Outstanding Individual Community Service Award, receive a HIGH 5 T-shirt, a REACH for the HIGH 5 Certificate, a HIGH 5 pin, an invitation to the HIGH 5 Appreciation Luncheon, and your name added to the “I got the SKILLs to REACH the High 5” bulletin board. Rewards for participating in at least one event in 4 out of the 5 SKILLs areas: Taking part in at least one opportunity in 4 of the 5 SKILL areas results in partial completion of the program. Individuals who make it this far receive a REACH for the HIGH 5 Certificate, a HIGH 5 pin, a HIGH 5 button, an invitation to the HIGH 5 Appreciation Luncheon, and your name added to the “I got the SKILLs to REACH the High 5” bulletin board to keep you motivated. Rewards for participating in at least one event in 3 out of the 5 SKILLs areas: Partaking in at least one event in 3 out of the 5 SKILLS opportunities results in a HIGH 5 button, and your name added to the “I got the SKILLs to REACH for the High 5” bulletin board.
