Towson University recognizes that it exists within the Greater Towson Community (PDF) comprising more than 25 neighborhoods and several businesses. Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) acts as a liaison between TU students and the Towson Community to increase communication and enhance Town-Gown relationships.
The university works closely and meets regularly with the Greater Towson Council of Community Associations (GTCCA), Towson Chamber of Commerce, and the Baltimore County Government to collaborate on topics related to community news and events, legislation, safety, alcohol abuse, and disorderly behavior. The overall goal of the partnership is to maintain and enhance quality of life for the entire Towson Community.
Community Ambassadors Program
The Community Ambassador (CA) program is designed to implement new approaches to building community relationships in the neighborhoods and assist students with their transition in living off campus through a peer led education program. The ambassadors serve as a resource to the students living in the community, as well as their neighbors. They strive to better educate students about off-campus living expectations, university policies, and issues affecting community living as well as help students be more engaged with campus and community life.
Currently, the CA program is located in Burleigh Square, Cardiff Hall Apartments, Donnybrook Apartments, and Towson Manor Village.
