Current Chapter Conduct and Disciplinary Status

(As of February 24, 2014)

Alpha Epsilon Pi, Fraternity

University Charge Date: November 5 and November 11, 2013

Endangering conduct that imperils or jeopardizes the health and safety of any person or persons,

incuding oneself (x2)

Violation of published institutional regulations and policies (hazing policy)

The possession or use of alcoholic beverages in the following manner: by any person under 21 years of age; or,...a person 21 years of age or older purchasing for, serving to, or otherwise distributing alcohol to any person who is under 21 years of age.

Sanctions include:

Suspension from Towson University through the fall 2015 semester.

Prior to return, the natioanl office of Alpha Epsilon Pi must meet with the Associate V.P. of Student Affairs to discuss plan for return.

Upon return, the chapter must score at a “Bronze” level or better in the Towson University Chapter Assessment Program (CAP) for the first two semesters back after the national office recruits new members during their re-colonization efforts.  Please go to www.towson.edu/gogreek for more details about the program. Should the organization be able to return following the period of suspension, the organization will be placed on University Probation and Social Probation for a period of 1 calendar year starting at the time of re-recognition.

 

Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Fraternity and Sorority Life Charge Date: January 24, 2014

Failure to achieve a "Bronze" level or better level in the Chapter Assessment Program.

Sanctions inlude:

Social probation through the Spring 2014 semester.

University Charge Date: January 22, 2013

Sanctions Include:

Suspension from Towson University through the fall 2015 semester. 

Upon return, the chapter must score at a “Bronze” level or better in the Towson University Chapter Assessment Program (CAP) for the first two semesters back after the national office recruits new members during their re-colonization efforts.  Please go to www.towson.edu/gogreek for more details about the program. Should the organization be able to return following the period of suspension, the organization will be placed on University Probation and Social Probation for a period of 1 calendar year starting at the time of re-recognition.

Fraternity and Sorority Life Charge Date: July 2, 2013

Failure to move from a "Needs Improvement" level in the Chapter Assessment Program to a "Bronze" level or better.

Sanctions inlude:

 Deferred Suspension from Towson University through the fall semster 2013 pending agreement to participate and completion of the following requirements.

  • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulaive GPA
  • 20 hours per week per person of studey hall
  • 50 hours of community service with a mentor program of choice
  • Bi-weekly meetings with the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Failure to meet any of the above requirements will result in immediate suspension.

Kappa Sigma, Fraternity

Fraternity and Sorority Life Charge Date: October 25, 2013

Social Probabtion through the spring semester 2014

An alcohol education workshop approved and developed by the Counceling Center.

 

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Fraternity and Sorority Life Charge Date: December 3 , 2013

Suspesion (deferred pending completion of other sanctions) through Spring semester 2014

An ethical leadership/decisioon making workshop developed by the office of leadership and civic engagement.

A hazing workshop developed by an office outside the Office of Fraternity and Sority Life.

Violation of published institutional regulations and policies (social event registration policy),Violation of the University policy prohibiting sexual harrassment and/or the University sexual assault policy,

Uncooperative behavior and/or failure to comply with proper instructions of officials acting in performance of their duties,

(2 charges) The possession or use of alcoholic beverages in the following manner: by any person under 21 years of age; or,...a person 21 years of age or older purchasing for, serving to, or otherwise distributing alcohol to any person who is under 21 years of age.

Sanctions include:

Suspension from Towson University through the summer 2014 semester.
