Fraternity/Sorority Academic Requirements
One of the founding principles of Greek-letter
organizations is scholarship. Academics are a top priority in the Greek
Community, and members are able to access a wide variety of academic resources,
such as study groups, to help maintain a level of scholastic excellence.
Most chapters appoint a scholarship chairperson whose sole responsibility is to
help the members within the chapter meet academic standards. In addition
to the oversight provided by the scholarship chairperson, most national offices
provide incentives for maintaining and exceeding chapter academic standards.
All chapters are required to set a minimum
academic standard for membership. Prospective new members must be willing
to show proof of academic achievement in order to be considered for membership.
