Greek Life

Recognized Greek-letter Organizations

There are currently 29 recognized fraternities and sororities at Towson University. While all Greek-letter organizations share core principles and a common purpose, fraternity and sorority chapters are grouped into four umbrella organizations known as Governing Councils.

Below is a listing of the four recognized Governing Councils on campus.  Please click on the hyperlinks to learn about the organizations within each administrative body.  Each chapter listed will be linked to either the local chapter webpage or the webpage for the respective national organization.

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) includes 10 North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) fraternities.

The Panhellenic Association (PHA) includes eight National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) includes six historically black fraternities and sororities on campus (3 fraternities and 3 sororities).

The Unified Greek Council (UGC) includes the five recognized multicultural or religious-based Greek-letter organizations on campus.
