CARE Team

Towson University is committed to supporting a safe and healthy community. At times, members of our community find themselves or others in need of additional support and assistance in order to thrive on campus.

The university’s CARE Team coordinates support resources that assist students in being successful academically and in promoting their health and well-being.

If you are concerned about the well-being of a TU community member, please contact Student Outreach & Support “SOS” by calling (410) 704-4462, or by submitting an SOS Form. In the event of an emergency, however, please call TUPD immediately at (410) 704-4444 or Baltimore County Police by dialing 911.

Are you concerned about a student? Submit an SOS form.

SOS Form

You will be asked to enter in basic information about the student, how to contact you, and for a description of the incident or behaviors that prompted the referral.

Frequently Asked Questions

Student Outreach and Support “SOS” is a division of Student Affairs that serves as a first point of contact to students in need of support. The CARE Team is an intercollegiate group that meets weekly to discuss our students of high concern. SOS oversees and makes direct referrals to the CARE Team.

Anyone can make a referral, including students, faculty, staff, and other community members.
The SOS Team reviews each submission within 48hrs at which point they will attempt to connect with a student and provide support. Depending on the severity of concern, the SOS Team may refer the case to the CARE Team.
You do not have to make this determination. Student Outreach and Support, in collaboration with campus colleagues will do it for you.  Your role is to report your concerns about members of our community so we are able to follow up appropriately.
More information can be found on the SOS Faculty & Staff Support Page
