Civic engagement and leadership encompasses active citizenship, community involvement, advocacy, awareness of social issues and injustices, and the development of personal and social responsibility. Civic engagement requires students to not only participate, but also lead with the intent to improve their neighborhood, their community, their country, and ultiimately the world.

Our vision " Bettering the World through Civic Engagement & Leadership"

The Office of Civic Engagement & Leadership: promotes political engagement, sponsors environmental Initiatives, and service-learning initiatives for faculty along with the campus newspaper program, monthly New York Times Talk lunches, and panels and debates on Freedom Square.
