Tiger Commencement Pledge

Towson University seniors have the option of taking the Tiger Commencement Pledge when they graduate:

As a TU graduate I will...

Take responsibility for the social and environmental consequences of my decisions.
Inspire others by my example.
Grow personally, professionally, ethically, and intellectually.
Embrace opportunities for community involvement.
Represent TU proudly.

All graduating seniors are invited to take the Tiger Commencement Pledge and wear a symbolic black and gold ribbon on Graduation Day. Pledge cards, ribbons and materials are passed out during cap and gown pick up periods for both winter and spring commencement ceremonies.

Information for Students:

How Does the Pledge Work?

Students sign a graduation pledge card, scroll, and wear black and gold ribbons at commencement.

 Information for Faculty Members:

Towson University faculty members are also invited to wear black and gold ribbons at Commencement ceremonies to support students taking the Tiger Commencement Pledge. Ribbons and pledge cards are available in the faculty dressing areas during commencement exercises for those choosing to participate.
