Civic Engagement
Service Learning Faculty
Fellows Program
The Service Learning Faculty Fellows
program will provide support for TU faculty interested in
creating a new service learning course or incorporating a
significant service learning component into an existing course.
All TU faculty members in any discipline are eligible to apply.
Selected Faculty Fellows will be awarded a $1,000 stipend.
Fellows will also be offered various workshops and roundtables
to assist during the development and implementation of their
service learning projects.
Interested faculty members are expected to propose a service
learning initiative that includes a case for the significance
and expected impact of the project in a broader context of civic
engagement and social responsibility. Applications will be
evaluated on how the service learning project seeks to advance
course objectives, include meaningful student interaction with
the community and address real community needs. Application
guidelines can be found here.
There is currently a call for proposals for the period Fall
2008—Spring 2009. All proposals are due by Friday, May 2,
2008. Awardees will be notified by Spring Commencement.
Please email proposals, with appropriate attachments, to Darcy
Accardi at
