New York "Times Talk" Lunches-
Announcing Don't Hate, Debate 2008!"

To lead up to the 2008 Presidential Elections, the NY Times Talk Lunches will focus on articles dealing with current issues at the center of the Presidential debates. Students, faculty and staff are invited to not only learn more about these issues, but discuss and debate their views and opinions in a civil atmosphere where it is OKAY to disagree. In short- "Don't Hate, Debate 2008!"

Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the monthly discussions surrounding recent New York Times articles.  There is FREE pizza and give aways to go along with great discussion, facilitated by a guest host.

There are three simple rules for participants:

  • Bring an open mind
  • Be respectful of others
  • PARTICIPATE! - and offer different perspectives

Purpose:

  • Increase campus dialogue and awareness surrounding current events and important local, state, national and global issues
  • Promote deliberative and respectful debate in which members of the campus community feel comfortable sharing their views and widen their perspectives through interactive discussion
  • Increase student-faculty interaction outside of the classroom
