Towson University students have grown increasingly concerned with the environment and issues of sustainability. Various student organizations promote environmental awareness and conservation efforts, and students play an active role in developing plans to make TU a "green" campus. The Office of Civic Engagement & Leadership sponsors the Eco-Rep program and annual programs related to conservation and sustainability. These programs foster environmental education and student enthusiasm for engaging students to become active citizen stewards for the environment.

Each October, the university celebrates sustainable action and education during National Campus Sustainability Day. A range of programs, events, informational displays and giveaways help spread awareness of global sustainability initiatives and invite students, faculty and staff to take part in the campus' sustainability goals.
The annual Environmental Conference takes place each year and aims to raise awareness among students, faculty and staff about environmental topics, issues and solutions. The conference was cancelled due to weather this year. We will be holding the next Environmental Conference in the Fall.
