There are numerous journals and conferences that focus on service-learning, community engagement and the scholarship of engagement. Publishing and presenting are great opportunities to disseminate information about faculty work done in these areas.

Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Journals

Journal for Civic Commitment 
The Journal for Civic Commitment is dedicated to growing and strengthening the discussion around service-learning. Through service-learning experiences students come to appreciate the importance of participating as responsible citizens in community life. Service-learning is the conduit through which colleges help to create an informed, participatory citizenry.

Journal of College and Character
The focus of the Journal of College and Character is character development in college, including how colleges and universities influence, both intentionally and unintentionally, the moral and civic learning and behaviors of college students.

Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education
The Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education is a new online journal that examines perspectives, research, and practices of community engagement and community-based learning in higher education.

Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship
The Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship is intended to provide a mechanism for the dissemination of scholarly works from all disciplines that integrate teaching, research, service, and community engagement.

Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement
The Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement is a peer-reviewed publication with goals: to serve as a forum to promote the continuing dialogue about the service and outreach mission of the university; and to foster understanding of how the service and outreach mission relates to the university's teaching and research missions as well as the needs of the sponsoring society.

Metropolitan Universities Journal 
 The Metropolitan Universities Journal is a quarterly publication intent on helping institutions stay abreast of cutting-edge topics in higher education.

Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning 
Since 1994, the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning (MJCSL) has been the premiere national, peer-reviewed journal publishing articles written by faculty and service-learning educators on research, theory, pedagogy, and other issues related to academic (curriculum-based) service-learning in higher education.

National Society for Experiential Education Journal
The National Society for Experiential Education Journal contains interests of the following areas: internships, co-op, arts, international and cross-cultural educations, service-learning, social justice, and active learning in the classroom.

Planning and Changing: An Educational Leadership and Policy Journal
Planning and Changing: An Educational Leadership and Policy Journal provides a forum for the presentation of peer-reviewed articles including formal research studies using quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies, as well as reflective, theoretical pieces focused on significant aspects of education and schooling relevant to the administrator, community, and the larger public good.

Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement
Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement recognizes that successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The articles in this peer-reviewed journal focus on how theories and practices can inform and improve such partnerships, connections, and collaborations. Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; or examining practices across disciplines or campuses; or exploring international networks are all encouraged.

Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities
CUMU was founded with the purpose of bringing together Presidents and University Leaders to share, discuss, and debate important issues facing our unique institutions.

Conference of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium

The goal of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium is to work collaboratively to build strong university-community partnerships anchored in the rigor of scholarship, and designed to help build community capacity.

Continuums of Service Conference
The Continuums of Service Conference invites leaders from higher education, K-12 education, community-based organizations, government agencies, philanthropic organizations, businesses, and grassroots efforts to convene and discuss strategies to implement our shared leadership and responsibility to rebuild and strengthen communities across the region.

International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement
For more than a decade, IARSLCE has supported the process of discovery by assembling scholars, practitioners, funders, and students to share and discuss their research related to service-learning and community engagement.


International AEE Conference

Each fall, over 750 educators and practitioners from around the world convene to share ideas, network, build skills, and effect change.

International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership Annual Symposium
IPSL programs combine academic studies and community service and full cultural immersion to give students a deeper, more meaningful study abroad experience.

MD-DC Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Conference
The purpose of the conference is to share success strategies among students, faculty and staff at institutions throughout Maryland and DC on the topics of community service, service-learning and civic engagement.

National Service-Learning Conference

The conference focuses on service-learning as a way of teaching and learning that builds academic skills and citizenship while addressing community needs in a genuine way. It convenes teachers and other service-learning practitioners, administrators, researchers, policy-makers, youth leaders, parents, program coordinators, national service members, community-based organization staff, and corporate and foundation officers.

Each year, thought leaders across our domain convene to share ideas and best practices in university economic development.
