All exchange students will be automatically enrolled in the TU health insurance policy, unless they submit an International Student Health Insurance Waiver Application to prove they have comparable health insurance and are approved. The TU health insurance fee is automatically billed to the TU student’s account each semester they attend TU.
Health Insurance Waiver Process
Any student with comparable health insurance may request a waiver from the TU health insurance plan. The waiver will only be approved if the student's health insurance policy meets TU's minimum requirements.
The TU Dowell Health Center will evaluate your alternate plan and waiver request.
You will be notified whether or not your waiver has been approved.
All students taking classes at TU are required to complete the Towson University Immunization and Tuberculosis screening requirements. Please follow the instructions below to complete the required forms.
Log on to the TU Dowell Health Center’s secure web portal. You will be asked to log in with your Towson NetID and password and verify your date of birth. (To activate your NetID click here).

International students must visit the Dowell Health Center upon their arrival at Towson for a TB screening visit.
