Health Insurance
- All exchange students must have health insurance coverage while studying at Towson University. For specific requirements, read the TU Dowell Health Center’s health insurance policy.
- The TU Dowell Health Center is responsible for ensuring that all students have adequate health insurance while attending Towson University.
- All exchange students will be automatically enrolled in the TU health insurance policy, unless they prove they have comparable health insurance and submit a Health Insurance Waiver Form.
- The TU health insurance fee is automatically billed to the TU student’s account each semester they attend TU.
Health Insurance Waiver Process
Any student with comparable health insurance may apply to obtain a waiver from the TU health insurance plan. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Provide proof of insurance to the TU Study Abroad Office. Proof of insurance must be submitted in English.
- All students applying to obtain a waiver must complete the Application for International Student Health Insurance Waiver and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office.
- The TU Dowell Health Center will evaluate your alternate plan and waiver request. You will be notified whether or not your waiver has been approved.
Immunization
In order to attend Towson University, you must meet certain immunization requirements. The TU Dowell Health Center is responsible for overseeing immunization requirements.
- See the Dowell Health Center 's website for immunization requirements.
- Complete the Pre-Entrance Health Form and Immunization Record - International Student Undergraduate and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office.
- Chnages to your course schedule may be delayed if this form is not submitted by the deadline.
- Incomplete information may result in the need for additional or duplicate vaccinations at Dowell Health Center.
- If you do not meet all of Towson 's requirements, you may not be able to attend classes.
