Study in the UK with Towson University in Summer 2009. Explore Britain's explosion onto the world's cultural stage in the 1960's through music, fashion, film, and theater. Visit the neighborhoods and clubs that thrived more than 40 years ago and discover how the British scene influenced behavior in the U.S.
Participants will spend time in Liverpool (The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas), Manchester (Herman's Hermits), and London (The Rolling Stones, The Who, Cream and more). Program highlights include a Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum, and interviews with local musicians. Housing is included in the program price (based on double occupancy).
This course is open to all majors but must be taken for credit. Attendance at all lectures and site visits is mandatory. Students will be graded on the quality of their participation in the site visits in addition to the course assignments.

Cost: *Approx. $4,800 includes tuition (3 credits), housing, breakfast daily at some locations, health insurance, roundtrip airfare, a London bus/metro travel pass, and excursions including a half-day sightseeing tour of London. Students will be responsible for most of their own meals. Additional costs include $150 study abroad fee, meals, and personal spending money.

Application Process: Fill out the application (PDF) and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office. $250 deposit required at time of application. Non-TU students must also submit a completed Non-Degree Enrollment Application (PDF).
