All faculty members taking graduate students abroad in which they earn academic credit by Towson University are required to work in collaboration with the Study Abroad Office to administer the program.
Faculty members, offices, or departments should notify the Study Abroad Office of their intent to offer a program on an ongoing basis via email and copy their Department Chair and College Dean. Please Note: program development timnelines vary, but generally require at least 6 - 12 months lead time.
A designated Study Abroad Office staff member and the graduate faculty member to lead the proposed study abroad program will meet and determine the level of service a particular program needs and what is feasible in the proposed timeframe. A tiered level of service will apply at three levels with corresponding administrative fees.
Note: This policy applies to graduate level study abroad programs only. Programs to take undergraduate students abroad for academic credit (including those with an option for graduate level credit) should follow the regular proposal procedures for faculty-led programs.
