Provence in the South of France, Avignon is
a walled city made up of a medieval labyrinth of squares
and cobblestone streets. Home to approximately 100,000
residents, this beautiful city is renowned for its museums,
art galleries, and festivals.
Academic Information: 12 - 15 U.S. credits (24 - 30 ECTS) per semester. The University of Avignon
offers a complimentary French language class (3 ECTS credits
per semester) to students
from exchange partner universities. The University of Avignon is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, France. TU students may receive Honors College credit for their study abroad experience.

Housing Options: University residences
(dormitories), off-campus non-university residences and apartments,
host family. Housing in a host family (costs around €550
to €600 per month) will provide at least two meals
per day included. The families are screened by the International
Office and are very friendly.
Cost: TU tuition and fees. Additional costs include
airfare, housing, meals, $190 health insurance fee, personal expenses, and a $300 study abroad fee.
Students will also be required to purchase French state-mandated
insurance upon arrival.TU Tuition remission can be applied.
Eligibility: Student must be a full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student at TU with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Sophomore/Junior/Senior status. Students must have completed 4+ semesters of college level French (advanced intermediate level) or
proof of sufficient level of French language established by a Towson University language teacher
to participate.
