Marketing Your Study Abroad Experience: Baltimore Regional
Re-entry Conference

Date: Saturday, February 6, 2010
Time: 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Location: Huebeck Multipurpose Room, Heubeck Hall, Goucher College

This conference is designed for the returned study abroad student. We hope to offer you advice and information relevant to you and your future endeavors after study abroad.

Make personal and professional meaning of your time abroad. Learn how to market your knowledge and skills on your resume, cover letters and in job interviews. Share your international experiences with other students returning from study abroad. Speak with experts about other international opportunities including volunteering, working, and graduate study abroad.

Open to all students in the Baltimore metro area, including those from Goucher, JHU, Loyola, Towson, Stevenson, UMBC, and any other returned study abroad alumni who happen to be in the Baltimore area.

Program Schedule:
The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. with check-in and registration and end at 1:30 p.m. Raffle prizes will be awarded after the Q & A Panel.

9:30 - 10 a.m. Registration
10 - 10:45 a.m. Welcome and Cross-cultural exercise
10:45 - 11 a.m. Keynote Speaker (Re-entry and Scholarship Opportunities)
11 - 11:45 a.m. Marketing your Study Abroad Experience
11:45 - 12 p.m. Panel Introductions
12 - 12:45 p.m. Q & A with Panel
12:45 - 1:15 p.m. Lunch and Networking
1:15 - 1:30 p.m. Wrap-up and Raffle

Sessions will cover the following topics:

Marketing your Study Abroad Experience

Revising your resume and writing cover letters to feature your study abroad experience, conducting successful job interviews - presented by TU Career Center.
Question and Answer Panel The floor will be open to your questions for the full duration of the time allotted to the session.

Directions and Parking:
Goucher College is located on Dulaney Valley Road, Towson, Maryland, about eight miles north of the center of Baltimore.

By train: All passenger trains arrive at Pennsylvania Station in downtown Baltimore. A taxi from the station to Goucher College takes approximately 20 minutes.

By car: Motorists approaching Goucher College from any direction are advised to take the Baltimore Beltway (I-695), leaving it at exit 27A-Towson (Dulaney Valley Road south). The college entrance is on the left, one-half block from exit 27A.

Registration:
The conference is open to all study abroad alum from the Baltimore region. Registration fee includes program, information materials, and lunch.
