Study Abroad

Public Relations in St. Petersburg, Russia
(taught in English)

June 3 - 13, 2009

Gain a unique perspective on the field of public relations with TU Professor Garry Bolan in Summer 2009. Based in St. Petersburg, Russia, the program includes daily seminar sessions and academic and cultural visits. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of business and public relations practices in Russia.

St. Petersburg is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Often referred to as the Venice of the North, the city combines its fascinating Russian heritage with a distinctly European outlook. Considered the cultural heart of modern day Russia, St. Petersburg is rapidly regaining its reputation as one of the Great Cities of Europe.

Program highlights include a Russian theatre performance, a cruise on the Neva River, and visits to the Hermitage Museum, Church of the Spilled Blood, Palace Square, the Winter Palace, Catherine's Palace and Pushkin Park. The program concludes with a one-night stopover in Paris, France.

Course: MCOM 479 (3 credits) Public Relations in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Costs: $4,7000 includes tuition (3 credits), health insurance, airfare, housing, most meals. Additional costs include $150 study abroad fee, some meals, and personal expenses.

*The Towson University Study Abroad Office reserves the right to make any necessary changes including adjustments in cost in the event that unforeseen circumstances arise.

Application Deadline: MARCH 15, 2009. Admission is on a rolling basis. Early application is advised as space is limited.

Application Process: Fill out an application (PDF) and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office. $250 deposit required at time of application. Non-TU students must also submit a completed Non-Degree Enrollment Application (PDF) .
