Study in the UK with Towson University in January 2013. This course provides an analysis of corporate communication strategies in the UK used in developing internal and external communication plans. The UK's role as a significant global economic environment will be examined. Guest lectures will be presented by experts in public relations, marketing, advertising, media, and politics. Excursions to related enterprises and facilities are a major focus of this course including visits to the Bloomberg Television and a tour of the BBC Studios. Attendance at all lectures and academic and cultural site visits is mandatory.
The program is based in London, one of the liveliest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world and home to more than 7.7 million residents. With music and sports venues, art galleries, theaters, museums, and shops, this city has something for everyone. Program highlights include a guided sightseeing tour of London by private coach, a theatre performance in London, and a tour of Westminster Abbey.
Costs: *$4,395 includes academic credit,
housing, health insurance, excursions, welcome and farewell dinners, a theatre performance, and a London bus/metro travel pass. Additional costs include $150 study abroad fee, international airfare (approx. $900), all other meals, and personal expenses.
Note: International airfare is not included in the program cost. Students will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to the program location to arrive by the designated date and time. The Study Abroad Office will identify an optional flight which participants may purchase independently if desired.

Eligibility: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5, a high school diploma or equivalent experience, and be at least 18 years old. Prerequisites: MCOM 101 (Introduction to Mass Communication) or COMM 101 (Introduction to Human Communication) or equivalent or consent of instructor. Recommended for MCOM or COMM majors only. Other majors will be required to meet with the program director to assess their eligibility for the program. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a laptop with them on this program.
Application Process: Fill out the application and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office. $250 deposit is required at time of application. Non-TU students must also submit a completed Non-Degree Enrollment Application.
