PROGRAM FULL FOR FALL 2013

The University of Sunderland is home to approximately 17,000 students including approximately 4,000 international students from all over the globe. It is an innovative, forward-thinking institution that has been educating students for more than 100 years.

The University is situated in the North East of England in the heart of the city of Sunderland - one of the UK's most vibrant cities in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. Sunderland has a population of 300,000 residents making it the largest city between Edinburgh and Leeds. It has been idenitified as the UK's 13th most sustainable city, has the longest stretch of city-side beach in the UK, and boasts the highest indoor climbing wall in the country!

The Tyne and Wear rapid transit rail system (the metro) makes it quick and easy to travel around the city and the surrounding region. There is plenty to see nearby including castles, museums and art galleries, and world-famous heritage sites such as Hadrian's Wall and Lindisfarne. The historic cities of Durham, Newcastle, York and Edinburgh are within easy reach by train and budget airlines operate from Newcastle Airport which makes it a fantastic base from which to explore Europe.

Academic Information: 15-16 U.S. credits (60 UK credits) per semester. The University of Sunderland is accredited by the UK Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).TU students may receive Honors College credit for their study abroad experience.

Dates:
Fall: September to January
Spring: January to May

Housing Options: On-campus self-catering apartments. Most students are placed in Clanny House within walking distance of City Campus.

Cost: TU Tuition and fees. Additional costs include airfare, housing, meals, personal expenses, $190 health insurance fee, and a $300 TU study abroad fee. TU Tuition remission can be applied.

Eligibility: Student must be a full-time undergraduate degree-seeking student at TU with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Sophomore/Junior/Senior status.

Application Process: Fill out the application and submit it to the TU Study Abroad Office. $100 exchange application fee.
