Information Systems

OTS Information Systems (IS) provides support and direction for the majority of the university's computer-based information systems applications. We also handle faculty, staff and student employee requests for access to these systems.

Information Systems Services

IS ensures that the university's core business systems–Student Administration, Human Resources, Payroll and Financial Records–are secure, stable and run efficiently. Other functions that we provide to the university community include:

  • Integration Services
  • Software maintenance
  • Reporting
  • Information Access Support
  • Consulting services – this is designed to advise customers on how to leverage their current or proposed investments in information technology in order to satisfy a business requirement.

Supported Applications

OTS Application Owners serve as your point of contact if you have an issue or question about a specific application. A list of supported applications and contact names can be found on the Information Systems' Supported Applications Chart (PDF).

Requests for Information Systems Access

Faculty, staff and student employees can obtain access to the following university’s information systems:

  • Admissions
  • Financial Aid Management
  • Financial Records
  • Human Resources
  • Student Information

Request access

To request access, a valid information systems account is required. If you do not have an account, please follow the steps below to request one.

Register for an account

To register for an account, follow these steps:

Review University Guidelines for Responsible Computing. You and your supervisor should read and understand computer user responsibilities and the responsibilities when accessing and using the information systems of the university.

Determine which information system you will need to access. Discuss with your supervisor which access is needed for your particular job. Access to different information systems include:

  • Email (non-Towson employee/student)
  • ImageNow
  • Oracle
  • PeopleSoft
  • Queries*
  • Reporting*

*costs or license may be involved

Complete the online Account/Data Access Request form. The form may also be obtained on the TU Forms Repository. Consult with your supervisor if you need assistance filling out the form.

Print and sign the Request form. Your Department Head must also sign the form. For non-Towson employees, the Department Head must be a full-time Towson employee.

Fax the completed form to OTS at 410-704-4656. OTS will contact you when the account is ready.
