MAJOR IN THEATRE ARTS AT TOWSON UNIVERSITY |
The major in Theatre Arts is time-consuming and physically demanding. Majors must be free to participate in theatre activities evenings and weekends. Participation in Department productions is a part of the education program of theatre majors. All theatre majors must participate in productions through THEA 494, 495, 496 and 497. Students transferring from other institutions and planning to major in Theatre Arts at Towson are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of Theatre Arts courses in residence at Towson . Theatre Arts majors must complete 46 credit hours in theatre, at least 18 of which must be at the 300-400 level. The major program consists of 31 credits of required courses and a minimum of 15 elective credits in theatre selected from one of the three areas of study. Students are expected to take any lower-division prerequisites before attempting the required upper-division electives. No student may skip a prerequisite without the permission of the Area Coordinator and the Department of Theatre Arts Chairperson. Students must achieve a grade of C (2.0) or better in a course for it to count toward the major. |
