Volunteers
Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to serve as volunteers for TUgis 2013. We need volunteers to help with a variety of tasks that include set up on March 18th, help with the conference on March 19th, and cleanup on March 20th. In exchange for a 4-hour shift, students can the conference for free.
Requirements:
- All volunteers must be MSGIC members. MSGIC is a professional organization founded in 1992 to serve the GIS community in Maryland. Membership is free for students. To join, go to http://www.msgic.state.md.us/.
- A brief essay (250 words or less) that outlines how the conference will impact the student’s professional development.
- A brief letter of recommendation from a college professor.
- Students are asked to submit their course schedule. The Drew Dedrick GIS Conference Endowment Scholarship enables us to partially recover the costs of student volunteers. Because of scholarship requirements, preference will be given to students who are enrolled full-time.
To volunteer, please send your name, course schedule, letter of recommendation, brief essay, and confirmation of MSGIC membership to tugis@towson.edu
