Project: Attenuation of the potential impacts
of copper roof runoff by stormwater best management practices
Summary: Copper materials have been used in
exterior architecture for many centuries because copper is durable,
long-lasting and aesthetically appealing.Recently, regulatory actions have been introduced to address
allowable concentrations of metals and other contaminants in
stormwater runoff to protect the environment and aquatic organisms,
primarily in west coast communities. To ensure that building design and operation do not place
owners and property managers at risk of violating regulatory
requirements, a close look at on-site design and stormwater
treatment practices is necessary.
