Towson Uteach

Information for Mentor Teachers

Thank you for interest in Towson UTeach! This program is designed to attract a wide range of bright science and mathematics majors into secondary teaching careers, and to prepare them through an advanced field-intensive curriculum for the high demands of the teaching profession.

Mentor teachers are an integral part of the success of Towson UTeach students. Mentor teachers invite pre-service teachers to 1–2 classroom observations and supervise three teaching experiences (approximately 40–50 minutes) during the semester for a total of approximately five classroom visits. All mentor teachers are paid a stipend for their work with Towson UTeach.

It is very important to Towson UTeach that the classroom visits are beneficial and enriching experiences to all involved. For that reason Towson UTeach is committed to work directly with mentor teachers and find the lesson contents and schedules that best fit the needs of hosting schools and Towson UTeach pre-teachers.
