Before classroom visits by Towson UTeach students:
The mentor teacher and university instructor meet before the semester starts to discuss the placement.
The mentor teacher and university instructor work together to determine teaching content and preliminary schedules of the Towson UTeach students.
The mentor teacher is expected to meet (in person or via phone) at least once with the Towson UTeach students to discuss and schedule their three teaching experiences.
The mentor teacher is willing to communicate with pre-teachers and the university instructor via e-mail.
During classroom visits by Towson UTeach students:
The mentor teacher is expected to be present in the classroom at all times. Pre-service teachers cannot be left alone with a substitute or other intern.
The mentor teacher assumes primary responsibility for classroom management while pre-teachers deliver their lesson.
After classroom visits by Towson UTeach students:
The mentor teacher completes a short Teacher Feedback Form for each lesson and provides a copy to the Towson UTeach students at the conclusion of each of the three lessons.
Throughout the semester:
The mentor teacher uses e-mail to communicate with the Towson UTeach pre-teachers and the University Instructor.
