Essential Function: The Occupational Therapist participates as a member of the educational team and is responsible for conducting appropriate occupational therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of function relative to the student’s age and educational placement in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory-motor integration, self-care and activities of daily living. The occupational therapist is responsible for providing supervision to the COTA and planning collaboratively with the COTA and IEP team to infuse occupational therapy goals into the student’s identified IEP goals and for providing appropriate educationally-based occupational therapy services to assist students in acquiring functional skills and to enhance the student’s ability to learn when necessary. Reports to school principal and Executive Director.
