Getting Around

Campus Maps

Large campus maps are located at the North York Road, South York Road, and the Towsontown Boulevard entrances, and the Enrollment Services Center on Osler Drive. Near all entrances are directional signs indicating the location of each building. All buildings are identified by freestanding signs or lettering on the building.

Campus Shuttles

The university’s on-campus bus and Shuttle Services provides access to all campus areas seven days a week. Our off-campus shuttle services the apartment complexes along Kenilworth Drive, Knollwood/Burke Ave, and Goucher Boulevard, in addition to the Timonium Park and Ride. Shuttle service to Baltimore Penn Station is also available via a dedicated shuttle. The university's Gold bus route offers access to the University Village apartments.

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA)

The campus is home to many public transportation stops. Five MTA bus stops located on or near the university host three bus lines that provide weekday service to the Inner Harbor, University of Maryland Transit Center, Lutherville Light Rail, Fox Ridge and Franklin Square. The 3, 8 and 55 lines are available for a one-way fare of $1.90; a one-day pass can be purchased for $4.40. Riders must use exact change. Another option is the MTA All Access College Transit Pass, which allows students currently taking classes at participating Maryland area colleges and universities to purchase a monthly pass for $52.90.

The MTA’s Online Trip Planner will tell you how to get to your destination without a car, including how long you’ll have to walk before you get to the nearest bus stop or train station. Just type in where you are and where you want to go to receive options for walking, driving or taking public transportation.

Collegetown Shuttle

The Collegetown Shuttle provides complimentary service from Towson to local train stations, shopping destinations, colleges and universities. Access the shuttle schedule and stop information at Baltimore Collegetown. Riders must show a valid university ID.

Towson Loop

New in Fall 2021, the Towson Loop is a free service that connects all Towson hotspots, with buses running every 15-20 minutes. Take the Collegetown Shuttle to Towson Town Center to connect.

ZipCar

Towson University participates with Zipcar to offer easy access to cars for students, faculty and staff who are 18 years of age and older. Zipcars on campus are located in Union Garage and at Newell Hall.
