Faculty/Staff Wellness Program
The Faculty/Staff Wellness Program was established to provide employees and volunteers of Towson University, St. Joseph Medical Center, and Greater Baltimore Medical Center a facility dedicated to improving fitness and overall wellness. Participant entry into the program requires the completion of an application form and a physical activity readiness questionaire (PAR-Q). For some participants, a physician referral may be required after a review of their application.
Upon entry, participants are required to undergo a health risk assessment, a fitness assessment and an equipment/facility orientation. The Tri-FIT computerized fitness assessment system is the primary tool utilized for this testing. Based on individual goals and medical information submitted by the participant, each new member is given an exercise prescription designed to meet their fitness and wellness needs.
How to Join
1. Complete the Faculty & Staff Wellness Program Application.
2. Return completed application to the Wellness Center for review. The staff will determine if a physician referral is necessary.
3. Schedule an initial assessment and orientation once the staff has reviewed and approved the application.
4. Undergo the assessment and orientation.
5. Continue on the path to wellness!
Fees
Faculty and Staff of TU, St. Joseph Medical Center, and Greater Baltimore Medical Center
• $50 for the first month ($25 orientation/assessment fee and $25 monthly membership fee)
• $25 for each month thereafter. You may choose to pay for several months at a time and receive a discount. For example, a yearly membership cost $240 or only $20 per month.
Volunteers at TU, St Joseph Medical Center, and Greater Baltimore Medical Center
• $55 for the first month ($25 orientation/assessment fee and $30 monthly membership fee)
• $30 for each month thereafter
