Started as a love for the stock market and inspired by the unquenchable desire for investment knowledge, grew an entity known today as the
Wall Street Investors' Investment Club at Towson University.
The idea of providing an opportunity for student investors at Towson University to take a partnership approach to their investment future as well as knowledge was one that the club's founder, Kareem G. Nakshbendi, could not keep to himself. After sharing his dreams and aspirations for such an organization at Towson University with a close friend as well as a classmate of Towson University's College of Business and Economics, Andre McDonald, fueled the beginning of the WiiC.
Envisioning the ideal environment for everyone, regardless of
their investment knowledge, Kareem and Andre started the investment
club, initially supported by a few close friends and classmates.
Ralfi Akkohen, also a recent TU graduate, quickly took on the
position as the club's treasurer, and Willyam Arbitman, currently
attending Towson University, assumed the position as the club's
secretary.
At the beginning, the potential for this club's success was doubted not only by other classmates, but also by various professors. Nevertheless, this powerful as well as determined executive board overcame the affliction of a limited support to grow their ideas into what we know and pride today, The Wall
Street Investors' Investment Club.
Today, many Towson University students of various majors and concentrations are a part of this organization. Not only are they learning how to analyze stocks and companies, but they are also making contacts for future employment as networking activities are provided on a regular basis.
We thank the original executive board for the ever-growing tradition they have build at Towson University as we are reminded by them that " Success is good planning, well executed."
