The Spring 2015 Forum provides an arena for science and mathematics teachers, students interested in careers in science and mathematics, and scientists and mathematicians from academia and industry to meet, network, and hear about the research of nationally known scientists and mathematicians. It is also a gathering in which we can all learn about the varied career paths of women scientists and mathematicians and consider some of the issues involved in the decision to enter the discipline.

We have a very exciting line-up of speakers this year. Dr. Margaret Chandler (Scientific Review Officer at the National Institutes of Health will speak about "One Size Does Not Fit All: One Path to a Career in Science as an Academic Researcher."  Dr. Dawnielle Farrar-Gaines (Senior Electrical and Materials Engineer at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory) will discuss "Brain Surgery: Transforming Perspectives Regarding Careers in STEM."  And then Dr. Cynthia J. Decker (Executive Director of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency Science Advisory Board) will speak about "The Feds, the State, and the Non-Profit World: An Untraditional Oceanographic Career."
