Scholarships

Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Scholarship

The Women’s Center administers the Charlotte W. Newcombe Endowed Scholarship for Mature Women and Men for undergraduate students 25 years of age or over. The criteria are:

  • Students, aged 25 or older, pursuing a first or second bachelor’s degree, or be enrolled in a     certification program.   

  • Bachelor’s candidates must have completed at least 60 credits; all candidates must have a GPA of at least 2.5.

  • Intention of scholarship is to support candidates who are close to realizing their academic goals and beginning a new career. The committee will consider the clarity and attainability of these goals along with applicants’ commitment to achieving these goals.

  • Selection based on financial need, with preference to candidates who have exhausted other sources of funding.

  • Enrolled or planning to enroll part-time (6-11 units) or full-time (12 or more units) at TU during the 2008-2009 academic year.

  • Financial need according to FAFSA or special circumstances documentation. 

The Newcombe Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming fall and spring semesters.

Women’s Center Awards

These awards are given at the discretion of the Director. They are designed to aid female students who find themselves in unexpected financial crisis. The Director gives particular consideration to applicants who are single mothers.  However, ALL female students who find themselves in sudden need are eligible to apply and will be given serious consideration.
Please call or stop by the center to receive an application. A meeting with the Director will be arranged as soon as the application is returned.

Women’s Forum Scholarship

The Women’s Center does not administer these scholarships.
