Life@TU

The Women in Leadership (WIL) Conference increases the leadership capacity of female students and prepares them for success in the workplace. It is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs and the academic colleges. Students will participate in a full-day conference with workshops presented by faculty, staff, and community leaders. In addition, the event will also feature an invitation only dinner and networking event for promising female students, college deans, and conference speakers.

Conference Overview
The main WIL event is a day-long conference on Saturday, April 14th. Conference topics and presentations will focus on three core tracks: (1) Women in Business, (2) Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math), and (3) Women in Service which will focus on women in non-profit and education fields. Additionally, there will be a common career readiness curriculum throughout the event. Students and presenters will be encouraged to attend in business attire. Presenters will be university faculty as well as local businesswomen, scientists, entrepreneurs, and community organizers.

University Partners
This event is organized by the Women’s Resources Program in the Center for Student Diversity, the Office of Student Activities, the Career Center, and the Center for Applied Business and Economic Research (CABER). In addition, each academic college is encouraged to sponsor 10 outstanding students to attend the conference.
